Cancellation Policy for Providers

Cancellation Policy – Vets and Techs

For Veterinary Professionals (Vets and Technicians)

vee.vet is built on reliability, professionalism, and trust. Confirmed shifts represent a professional commitment to patient care and clinic operations. This policy outlines cancellation standards to ensure fairness, accountability, and platform stability.

1. Cancellations by Veterinary Professionals

Confirmed shifts reserve your time and availability. Cancellations are monitored within rolling time periods as outlined below.

Time Before Shift Start

What Happens

Allowed Limit

More than 30 days

Cancellation allowed. Logged for reliability tracking.

No set limit*

8–30 days

Counts toward monthly limit.

1 per 30 days

Within 7 days

Considered last-minute and high impact.

1 per 90 days

*Excessive early cancellations may result in internal review or booking restrictions.

Important Notes

  • “30 days” and “90 days” refer to rolling calendar periods measured backward from the time the cancellation is submitted.

  • Each confirmed shift counts separately.

  • Time is measured from cancellation submission to shift start time (Practice time zone).

  • Exceeding cancellation limits may result in temporary suspension.

  • Repeated early cancellations may negatively affect your reliability rating and may result in internal review or booking restrictions, even if numerical limits are not exceeded.

2. Leaving a Shift Early

Leaving a confirmed shift before completion without proper notice is considered a serious violation.

If you must leave a shift due to an emergency:

  • Notify the Practice immediately before departing.

  • Notify vee.vet within 24 hours at support@vee.vet.

  • Provide documentation if applicable.

Leaving a shift without proper notice or valid reason may result in temporary suspension or permanent removal from the platform.

3. Illness and Contagious Disease Protocol

Patient and workplace safety are a priority.

If you are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, have tested positive for a contagious disease, or have been medically advised not to work:

  • Cancel affected shifts immediately through the platform.

  • Notify vee.vet within 24 hours at support@vee.vet.

  • Submit documentation confirming that you are medically restricted from working.

Acceptable Documentation

Documentation must confirm:

  • That you are unable to work, and

  • The expected duration of the work restriction.

Examples include:

  • A doctor’s note confirming work restriction

  • A public health isolation notice

You are not required to disclose your specific diagnosis.

Documentation must be submitted within 48 hours of cancellation. Failure to provide documentation may result in the cancellation being counted under the applicable time window limits above.

Repeated illness-related cancellations may be subject to review.

Once medically cleared, you may resume accepting shifts.

4. Suspension Terms

Temporary suspensions may last up to 30 days.

Repeated violations or serious breaches of this policy may result in permanent removal from vee.vet.

All enforcement decisions are subject to internal review to ensure fairness, consistency, and platform integrity.

5. Practice-Initiated Cancellations

If a Practice cancels a confirmed shift within 24 hours of the scheduled start time:

  • vee.vet will attempt to secure a comparable replacement shift.

  • If no equivalent shift is available, the professional will receive 50% of the scheduled shift pay.

By using vee.vet, you agree to comply with this Cancellation & Attendance Policy. Our goal is to maintain a reliable, professional marketplace that supports patient care, professional integrity, and long-term trust.
